as you know, we woke up late after karaoking all night…
since it was already pretty late, we decided to have lunch nearby, jumping into a soba & tempura shop close-by. it was pretty good! this place we had to remove our shoes and it was the kneel/cross-leg type of place which was the first on this trip.
we walked to Ueno station again, 20-30 minutes. michelle and i started our JR pass today, pretty convenient, don’t have to figure out how much we gotta pay now… but we gotta go to the manned-gate every time.
from ueno station, heading to harajuku, not odaiba. o.o! we’re gonna head there tmr instead. so once we got there, we visited the ukiyo-e museum that exhibited the works of a nanpo… poet guy. hahaha. that was okay i guess, something cultural in a city of insanity. on our way to find the place, we walked through takashita-dori. it was jam-packed full of people and shops. could barely walk through, yikes. craziest, nastiest person that we saw was a grown guy wearing a maid’s outfit with bunny ears. ugggh. scarred for life.
after going through the ukiyo-e museum at around… 5. we split up, michelle went to shop and we went to find the shrine in the park. the park was full of interesting people, they were like random art students doing random things, pretty cool. there was one guy singing, another making huge bubbles, a bunch of people juggling, another was tap dancing, and they were filming a music video or something in english, weird. anyways, as we walked through and through and through, one of the huge-ass crows almost crapped right on me and we figured out that the shrine was a different entrance… once we got out of the park, that entrance was closed – -;… ooooo well
went back to shopping, i’ve bought several. several t-shirts. too many. went to the main uni qlo store, they sold their t-shirts in little capsules, which was pretty awesome. we also found a graphin store, or whatever… really nice shirts, i just can’t help myself!
then we went to find a place to eat and decided on a place that ended up having western-type-sorta food, hamburger steak, steak, etc. it was really good, and pretty good price. was gonna take a pic of it, but forgot to at the last second.
headed over to shinjuku station, to go to the observation deck at the tokyo metro gov’t building. there was a bunch of people doing the same thing apparently. the observation floor, (lv45) had a small cafe and souvenir shops, and the ‘observation’ was just windows, although the view was pretty awesome nonetheless. found a toy car that i know i have at home from when i was a kid. pretty cool 😛
aaaaaaaand JR’d back to ueno, walked back to our hostel. my shoulder hurts. my feet ache. how am i gonna last?! hahahah… odaiba tmr!
